Find My Hero® is a service of Madison Investigative Services, LLC dedicated to helping survivors identify and reconnect with first responders and others who came to their aid during a life-changing event.

What Is Find My Hero?

Find My Hero® is a first-of-its-kind investigative service created by Madison Investigative Services and led by former Marine and retired Detective-Sergeant Don DiStefano. The service helps survivors reconnect with the individuals who rescued them — from fires, cardiac events, violence, accidents, or natural disasters.

Life-saving encounters often occur in the middle of chaos, with no opportunity for introductions. A survivor may remember the sound of a voice, the color of a uniform, or nothing at all beyond the fact that a stranger saved their life. Find My Hero® was created to bridge that emotional and informational gap, applying the same investigative skill our team uses in missing persons cases to a different kind of search — not for someone who is lost, but for the responder a survivor never got the chance to thank.

Reunions between survivors and their rescuers provide profound healing on both sides. Survivors often carry gratitude and unanswered questions for years, while first responders rarely receive recognition for the extraordinary acts they perform in the line of duty. Find My Hero® is now an officially registered trademark — a promise that these stories of bravery, gratitude, and reunion will be preserved and honored as a defined, ongoing mission of Madison Investigative Services, not a one-time project. All investigations are conducted with discretion and respect for privacy on both sides of the reunion.
